Day 1: Luxor Sightseeing • Embarkation in Esna

• Karnak Temple: Your journey begins with a visit to the vast Temple of Karnak in Luxor. Walk through the awe-inspiring Great Hypostyle Hall, a forest of 134 colossal columns, and explore the sprawling complex built over 2,000 years by generations of pharaohs.

• Valley of the Kings & Colossi of Memnon: Cross to the West Bank to explore the legendary Valley of the Kings, descending into the beautifully decorated tombs of the pharaohs. Afterwards, pause for photos at the towering Colossi of Memnon, the sole remnants of Amenhotep III’s mortuary temple.

• Embarkation & First Sail: After your tours, transfer south to Esna to board your elegant Dahabiya sailboat. Settle into your cabin, enjoy a welcome lunch on board, and begin your gentle sail southward, spending your first peaceful night moored near El Hegz.

Day 2: El Kab Tombs • Temple of Edfu • Sail to El Ramadi

• El Kab: Disembark after breakfast to visit the ancient site of El Kab (Elkab), the former capital of Upper Egypt’s third nome. Explore its impressive mudbrick enclosure walls and several well-preserved rock-cut tombs from the New Kingdom, adorned with vibrant and detailed reliefs of daily life and religious rituals.

• Temple of Edfu: Sail onward to Edfu. Here, a traditional horse-drawn carriage transports you to the magnificent Temple of Horus. This incredibly intact Ptolemaic temple is the largest of its kind, offering a complete and awe-inspiring vision of ancient Egyptian temple architecture and mythology.

• Evening Sail: Return to your Dahabiya and continue sailing south. Enjoy dinner on board as you watch the sunset over the riverbanks before mooring for the night at the serene location of El Ramadi.

Day 3: Bassaw Village • Gebel El Silsila Quarries • Sail to Beshir Island

• Bassaw Village: Experience authentic rural Egyptian life with a visit to Bassaw Village. Stroll through lush fields of sugarcane and date palms, interact with friendly locals, and gain insight into the traditional agricultural rhythms of Nile communities.

• Gebel El Silsila: Continue sailing to the historic Gebel El Silsila quarries. This site was the primary source of sandstone for Egypt’s great temples. Explore the dramatic cliffs, ancient quarry marks, and rock-cut shrines (speos) dedicated to Nile deities.

• Scenic Sailing: Return to your vessel for lunch and an afternoon of leisurely sailing. Relax on the sun deck as the stunning desert landscape glides by, arriving in the evening to moor near the picturesque Beshir Island for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Kom Ombo • Herdiab Island • Sail to Aswan

• Kom Ombo Temple: After breakfast, visit the unique Temple of Kom Ombo, perfectly situated on a high dune overlooking the Nile. This “double temple” is symmetrically dedicated to two gods: Sobek (the crocodile) and Haroeris (Horus the Elder). Don’t miss the adjacent Crocodile Museum.

• Herdiab Island & Swimming: Enjoy some leisure time with a stop at Herdiab Island, a serene sandy spot in the Nile. This is your chance for a safe and refreshing swim in the river’s clear, calm waters—a quintessential Egyptian experience.

• Final Sail to Aswan: Return to the Dahabiya for lunch and begin your final sail towards Aswan. Soak in the last panoramic views of the Nile Valley before arriving in the evening for your final dinner and overnight on board, docked in Aswan.

• Day 5: Philae Temple • High Dam • Disembarkation

  • Philae Temple: Disembark after breakfast for a motorboat ride to Agilkia Island, home to the exquisite Temple of Philae. This romantic temple complex, dedicated to the goddess Isis, was meticulously relocated here to save it from the rising waters of the Aswan High Dam.

  • Aswan High Dam: Conclude your sightseeing with a visit to the monumental Aswan High Dam, a modern engineering marvel that created Lake Nasser. Learn about its profound impact on Egypt while enjoying panoramic views.

  • End of Services: After the visits, you will be transferred to your Aswan hotel or to Aswan Airport, marking the end of your memorable Dahabiya cruise from Luxor to Aswan.
