Day 1: Arrival in Luxor

• Airport Welcome: Your journey begins with a meet-and-assist service upon arrival at Luxor Airport, ensuring a smooth entry into the ancient city of Thebes.

• Private Transfer & Check-in: Enjoy a comfortable private transfer directly to your carefully selected hotel in Luxor. Check in and take the remainder of the day to rest, relax by the pool, or take an initial stroll along the Nile Corniche.

• Evening at Leisure: The evening is yours to enjoy at your own pace, perhaps with a quiet dinner as you anticipate the incredible historical exploration that awaits over the coming days.

Day 2: Karnak Temple & Luxor Temple at Sunset

 

• Karnak Temple: After breakfast, delve into the colossal Temple of Karnak, the largest religious complex ever built. Wander through its Great Hypostyle Hall—a forest of 134 gigantic columns—and explore its obelisks, sacred lake, and the many chapels built by pharaohs across two millennia.

• Luxor Temple at Dusk: Return to your hotel to relax before visiting the elegant Luxor Temple in the late afternoon. Experience its majestic colonnades and statues beautifully illuminated by the soft, golden light of sunset, a truly magical and photogenic moment.

• Overnight in Luxor: Return to your hotel for dinner and another comfortable overnight stay in Luxor.

Day 3: The West Bank of Luxor & Embarkation in Esna

• West Bank Exploration: Cross the Nile to explore the Theban Necropolis. Visit the famed Valley of the Kings, descending into several of the ornately decorated royal tombs. Continue to the unique, terraced Temple of Hatshepsut and pause for photos at the towering Colossi of Memnon.

• Embarkation & First Sail: After lunch, transfer south to Esna to board your traditional Dahabiya sailboat. Settle into your comfortable cabin and enjoy a welcome drink as your vessel begins its gentle, peaceful journey southward on the Nile.

• First Night on the Nile: Enjoy your first dinner on board as you sail towards El Hegz, where you’ll moor for the night under a canopy of stars.

Day 4: El Kab & Edfu Temple

• El Kab (Elkab): Disembark after breakfast to explore the ancient site of El Kab. See its impressive defensive walls and visit several well-preserved rock-cut tombs of local nobles, adorned with vivid and colorful reliefs depicting daily life, hunting scenes, and religious offerings.

• Temple of Edfu: Sail onward to Edfu. A traditional horse-drawn carriage takes you to the magnificent Temple of Horus, the largest and most completely preserved temple in Egypt. Its massive pylons, grand courtyard, and detailed mythological reliefs offer an unparalleled glimpse into Ptolemaic architecture.

• Sailing to El Ramadi: Return to the Dahabiya for lunch and continue sailing south. Spend a serene evening moored at El Ramadi, enjoying dinner and the tranquil sounds of the river.

Day 5: Bassaw Village & Gebel El Silsila

• Bassaw Village: Experience authentic Egyptian rural life with a morning visit to Bassaw Village. Walk through its lush fields, interact with friendly locals, and observe traditional farming methods that have sustained Nile communities for centuries.

• Gebel El Silsila Quarries: Sail to the historic Gebel El Silsila quarries. Explore the dramatic sandstone cliffs where ancient workers extracted blocks for temples like Karnak. See the rock-cut shrines (speos) and numerous inscriptions left by quarry overseers and pharaohs.

• Evening at Beshir Island: Continue your scenic sail, arriving in the evening to moor near the picturesque Beshir Island. Enjoy dinner on board and a peaceful night on the water.

Day 6: Kom Ombo Temple & Swimming at Herdiab Island

• Kom Ombo Temple: Visit the unique Temple of Kom Ombo, perfectly situated on a high bank overlooking the Nile. This symmetrical “double temple” is dedicated to both Sobek, the crocodile god, and Horus the Elder. Explore its fascinating reliefs and the adjacent Crocodile Museum.

• Nile Swim at Herdiab Island: Enjoy some leisure time with a stop at Herdiab Island, a serene sandy spot perfect for a safe and refreshing swim in the Nile’s calm, clear waters—a highlight for many travelers.

• Sail Towards Aswan: Return to the Dahabiya for lunch and begin your final sail towards Aswan. Relax on deck and soak in the last of the beautiful river scenery before your arrival.

Day 7: Aswan – High Dam & Philae Temple

• Disembarkation & Aswan Tour: After breakfast, disembark from your Dahabiya. Begin your exploration of Aswan with a visit to the monumental Aswan High Dam, a modern engineering feat that created Lake Nasser and forever changed Egypt’s landscape.

• Philae Temple: Take a scenic motorboat ride to Agilkia Island to explore the exquisite Temple of Philae. This romantic complex, dedicated to the goddess Isis, was meticulously saved from flooding and reassembled in its current stunning island location.

• Hotel Check-in: After the visits, transfer to your Aswan hotel for check-in. Enjoy a free evening to relax or explore the vibrant Aswan market at your leisure.

Day 8: Departure from Aswan

• Final Transfer: After breakfast at your hotel, check out at the designated time. Your private driver will meet you for the transfer to Aswan Airport for your onward departure flight, marking the end of your immersive Nile journey.
