  • Check-in & Evening: After a smooth check-in, the remainder of your evening is completely free. Unwind from your travels, enjoy hotel amenities, or simply soak in your first impressions of this legendary city.

Day 2: Saqqara & The Pyramids of Giza

  • Saqqara: Venture to the vast Saqqara necropolis, the burial ground of ancient Memphis. Here, you’ll encounter the revolutionary Step Pyramid of King Djoser, designed by the genius Imhotep. This six-tiered structure is the world’s oldest large-scale stone building and marks the brilliant beginning of pyramid architecture.

  • The Giza Plateau: Continue to the iconic Giza Plateau to stand before the last surviving wonder of the ancient world: the Great Pyramids. Gaze up at the monumental structures of Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure, then meet the enigmatic Sphinx, the mythical guardian with the body of a lion and the face of a king, presiding over the desert sands.

  • Lunch & Return: Savor a delicious lunch at a restaurant offering stunning panoramic views of the pyramids. Reflect on the morning’s wonders before returning to your Cairo hotel for an evening at leisure.

Day 3: The Grand Egyptian Museum & The Citadel

  • Grand Egyptian Museum: After breakfast and hotel check-out, delve into the unparalleled collections of the Grand Egyptian Museum. This world-class institution houses thousands of artifacts, with the undisputed highlight being the breathtaking, complete collection of treasures from the tomb of the boy-king, Tutankhamun.

  • The Citadel: Ascend to the historic Citadel of Salah El-Din, a formidable 12th-century Islamic fortress that offers commanding views over Cairo’s sprawling cityscape. Within its walls, visit the stunning Ottoman-era Mosque of Muhammad Ali, known for its elegant alabaster interior and towering minarets.

  • Flight to Aswan: Transfer to Cairo Airport for your domestic flight to Aswan. Upon arrival in Egypt’s beautiful southern city, you’ll be transferred to your hotel for check-in and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Abu Simbel Temples

  • Journey South: Embark on an early morning journey south (approximately 3 hours by road or via optional flight) to one of Egypt’s most awe-inspiring sites, the rock-cut temples of Abu Simbel on the shores of Lake Nasser.

  • Temples of Ramses II & Nefertari: Behold the monumental facade of the Great Temple of Ramses II, fronted by four colossal 20-meter tall seated statues of the pharaoh. Adjacent stands the smaller, equally graceful temple dedicated to his favorite wife, Queen Nefertari. Their relocation in the 1960s was an engineering marvel.

  • Return to Aswan: Enjoy lunch in Abu Simbel before making the return journey to Aswan. The evening is yours to relax at your hotel, reflecting on the day’s monumental experience.

Day 5: Philae Temple & Dahabiya Embarkation

  • Philae Temple: After breakfast, take a scenic motorboat ride to Agilkia Island, the new home of the Temple of Philae. This elegant complex, dedicated to the goddess Isis, was meticulously dismantled and reassembled here to save it from the rising waters of the Nile after the construction of the Aswan High Dam.

  • Embarkation & Kom Ombo: Transfer to your traditional Dahabiya, an intimate sailing vessel offering a peaceful and authentic Nile experience. Enjoy lunch on board as you begin sailing. Your first stop is the unique Temple of Kom Ombo, uniquely dedicated to two gods: Sobek (the crocodile) and Horus the Elder (the falcon).

  • First Night on the Nile: Continue sailing to moor peacefully near the ancient site of Gebel El Silsila. Enjoy a welcome dinner on board under the stars, experiencing the serene rhythm of river life.

Day 6: Gebel El Silsila & Edfu

  • Gebel El Silsila: Disembark after breakfast to explore Gebel El Silsila, the major sandstone quarry that supplied stone for temples like Karnak. Walk among the dramatic cliffs dotted with ancient inscriptions, stelae, and rock-cut shrines dedicated to the Nile and the quarry workers.

  • Edfu Temple: Sail onward to Edfu. Here, a traditional horse-drawn carriage takes you to the entrance of the Temple of Horus. This incredibly well-preserved Ptolemaic temple, dedicated to the falcon-headed god, is almost completely intact, with towering pylons, a grand courtyard, and detailed mythological reliefs.

  • Sailing North: Return to your Dahabiya for dinner and an overnight mooring near Esna, enjoying the tranquil sounds of the Nile at night.

Day 7: Luxor – The Valley of the Kings & Karnak

  • Valley of the Kings: After breakfast, disembark and drive to the West Bank of Luxor. Enter the famed Valley of the Kings, the royal burial ground for pharaohs of the New Kingdom. Descend into several of the ornately decorated tombs (like those of Ramses VI or Merenptah), where vivid wall paintings depict scenes from the Egyptian Book of the Dead.

  • Karnak Temple: Cross the Nile to the East Bank to explore the monumental Temple Complex of Karnak. Walk through the staggering Great Hypostyle Hall, a forest of 134 gigantic columns, and learn how this vast religious site was built and enlarged by successive pharaohs over two millennia.

  • Transfer to Hurghada: After lunch, begin the scenic drive east through the arid Eastern Desert mountains, arriving at the vibrant Red Sea resort city of Hurghada. Check into your beachfront hotel and enjoy your first evening with the sea breeze.

Days 8–11: Hurghada – Red Sea Relaxation

  • Beachfront Leisure: Enjoy four full, uninterrupted days to unwind at your own pace. Hurghada’s golden beaches and the Red Sea’s famously clear, turquoise waters provide the perfect setting for pure relaxation. Lounge by the pool, take refreshing swims, or stroll along the marina.

  • Optional Adventures: Customize your stay with a variety of optional excursions: snorkel or scuba dive among breathtaking coral reefs teeming with colorful marine life; experience the desert on a thrilling quad bike or Jeep safari; take a relaxing boat trip to Giftun or Paradise Island; or indulge in water sports and rejuvenating spa treatments.

Day 12: Departure

  • Final Transfer: After a final leisurely breakfast at your hotel, check out at the designated time. Your private driver will meet you for the comfortable transfer to Hurghada International Airport for your onward international flight, marking the end of your memorable journey through ancient wonders and coastal paradise.
