The site also includes the king’s mortuary temple, making it an important site in ancient Egypt.

Egyptian Museum, Cairo
The Egyptian Museum is located in central Cairo, overlooking Tahrir Square, occupying an imposing neoclassical-style building that perfectly suits its exceptional collections. Opened in 1902, it has since become the world’s largest museum of Egyptian art. Its extensive collections illustrate the flourishing period of ancient Egypt.
