Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Luxor

Meet and assist at Luxor Airport.
Private transfer to your hotel for check-in.
Overnight in Luxor.


Day 2: Karnak Temple & Luxor Temple at Sunset

Temple of Karnak – After breakfast, begin your journey at one of the largest and most significant temple complexes in the world. Explore its gigantic hypostyle hall, towering obelisks, and sacred lake. Karnak was the religious heart of ancient Thebes and evolved over more than 2,000 years, making it a living record of Egyptian history.

Return to the hotel for a short rest.

Luxor Temple at Sunset – In the late afternoon, visit Luxor Temple, beautifully illuminated by the warm glow of sunset. Dedicated to the rejuvenation of kingship, the temple’s statues, sphinx-lined entrance, and elegant columns create a truly atmospheric experience.

Overnight in Luxor.


Day 3: The West Bank of Luxor & Embarkation in Esna

After breakfast, explore Luxor’s West Bank:

  • Valley of the Kings – The royal necropolis of the New Kingdom. Descend into ancient tombs decorated with detailed hieroglyphics and vibrant artwork, including burial chambers of some of Egypt’s most famous pharaohs.

  • Temple of Queen Hatshepsut – A stunning multi-terraced monument built into limestone cliffs. Dedicated to Egypt’s only female pharaoh to rule as a king, the temple blends nature and architecture in a harmonious design.

  • Colossi of Memnon – Two massive stone statues rising 18 meters high. These remnants of a once-grand mortuary temple are among the most iconic landmarks of the West Bank.

Continue to Esna (50 km south of Luxor) to board your dahabiya.
Lunch on board as the boat sails toward El Hegz.
Dinner and overnight on the dahabiya.


Day 4: El Kab & Edfu Temple

After breakfast, visit El Kab, once an important ancient capital. Here you will explore beautifully preserved rock-cut tombs of nobles, decorated with colorful scenes depicting daily life, rituals, and ancient festivities. The site also includes remnants of massive mudbrick walls that once protected the city.

Return to the dahabiya and sail toward Edfu.

After lunch, visit the Temple of Edfu, one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt. Dedicated to Horus, the falcon god, the temple’s reliefs tell the story of the Eternal Struggle between Horus and Seth. Its grand entrance, towering walls, and detailed carvings make it a standout monument.

Return to the boat and continue toward El Ramadi.
Dinner and overnight on board.


Day 5: Bassaw Village & Gebel El Silsila

After breakfast, visit Bassaw Village, a traditional fishing and farming community where you can walk among mudbrick houses, lush fields, and meet local residents. It’s a warm, authentic glimpse into rural life along the Nile.

Return to the dahabiya and sail toward Gebel El Silsila.

After lunch, explore Gebel El Silsila, the ancient sandstone quarry that supplied stone for temples such as Karnak, Luxor, and Kom Ombo. Walk among carved chapels, inscriptions, and quarry marks left behind by ancient workers more than 3,000 years ago.

Sail onward to Beshir Island.
Dinner and overnight.


Day 6: Kom Ombo Temple & Swimming at Herdiab Island

After breakfast, visit the Temple of Kom Ombo, uniquely dedicated to two gods: Sobek, the crocodile god, and Horus the Elder. Its symmetrical layout, medical carvings, and crocodile mummy museum make it an especially fascinating stop.

Return to the dahabiya and enjoy lunch while sailing to Herdiab Island, a tranquil golden-sand island known for its clean, shallow waters — a perfect spot to swim in the Nile in complete safety.

Continue sailing toward Aswan.


Day 7: Aswan – High Dam & Philae Temple

After breakfast, disembark and begin your Aswan visits:

  • The High Dam – One of the world’s greatest engineering projects of the 20th century. Learn how it controlled the Nile’s floods, created Lake Nasser, and transformed Egypt’s modern economy.

  • Philae Temple – A graceful island temple dedicated to the goddess Isis. Famous for its romantic setting, detailed reliefs, and elegant colonnades, the temple was relocated stone by stone to save it from flooding.

Transfer to your hotel and overnight in Aswan.


Day 8: Departure from Aswan

Breakfast at your hotel, followed by private transfer to Aswan Airport for departure.
